In February of 2009 I was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. When I talked to the doctor I got the "you have a 50/50 chance of staying alive". It was devastating and to make matters worse I had to tell my wife.
Well to make a long story short I went through seven weeks of radiation every weekday and 3 chemo treatments. My throat swelled to the point I could not even swallow water. I was fed through a tube attached to my stomach. I was bed ridden for 5 of those weeks. Without the care and love of my wife and the humor of her and my close friends I don't think I would have made it.
My wife and my friends would joke about the situation and that would keep things positive. When you tell someone you had cancer they want to give you sympathy. You don't want the sympathy you want to move forward, you want to talk and joke about it not have people feel sorry for you.
This is why we have made this site and our facebook page. We sell shirts with funny sarcastic sayings for those currently in treatment or those who are done with treatments to wear to show the world they are dealing with this horrible situation with honesty and laughter. And to help with the cause $1.00 from each shirt will go to Cancer research and support.
We are hoping for a cure but till then we must
